CLARA VALE FOOTBALL CLUB was formed in March 2005, and a significant amount of effort was put in to ensure that Clara Vale F.C. was a well-organised and safe Club. This effort resulted in the prestigious Charter Standard Club award only 3 months later in June 2005 (such an award normally takes an average of 3 years for a new club to attain).

Debbie Storey has completed The FA "Effective Football Club Administration" course and is, in her role as Club Secretary, continually forging links with the local community.

Clara Vale FC are actively developing the Club to provide opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.

SCHOOL-CLUB LINKS are already forged with local primary schools to provide exit points for all schools in the area. 3 Lions activities (as approved by Durham FA Development) are arranged in the form of Coaching Courses & Festivals for Keystage 1 & 2 children have proved to be very successful.

We are also active in developing our young Players by delivering The FA's Steps-into-Sport initiative with several of them receiving their awards for Club Organisation. Several others have also successfully completed their Referee Courses and a number are currently being enrolled on 1st4sport Level 1 Coaching Courses. Simon Storey, as Football Development Officer, co-ordinates the arrangements of all football development courses.
